في عيد ميلاده أهدى سيد درويش نجيب الريحاني صورة فوتوغرافية له مكتوب عليها بخط يده : "من ميّت الى أموات"
من هذه الزاوية نظرنا الى "فنان الشعب" لعرض سمعي بصري غنائي مسرحي يتناول أغنيات سيد درويش -مؤسس الاغنية العربية بعد عصر النهضة - التي لحنها للمسرح الغنائي في الربع الأول من القرن الماضي و أعدنا تشكيلها سمعيا و بصريا و مسرحياً مقتفين أثر الوجه الداكن "الشيطاني" عند ملحّن النشيد المصري الحالي.

“Devil’s eye”
On his birthday, Najib Al Rihani got from Sayid Darwish a photograph with a handwritten note on it reading “From a dead man to the dead”.
From this, we were inspired to shape an audiovisual, musical and theatrical rendition of Sayid Darwish songs – he who initiated the Arabic song following the renaissance - which he has composed in the beginning of the previous century. We’ve remolded the songs while emphasizing on the dark demonic side of the composer of the Egyptian national anthem.
