More info:
Gurumiran is a Lebanese-Armenian singer, songwriter, award-winning producer and guitarist. He has been a touring artist since 2004.
In his solo album Aberrance (2015), Gurumiran set himself apart regionally and from the rest of the electronic acts around the world with his distinctive Arabesque and Armenian sounds prominent throughout his compositions.
Guru’s “theatrical vocals à la David Bowie and Nick Cave” interlace with musical passages that resonate with fresh Oriental sounds. His guitar mimics a duduk, oud, or saz, while his groove arrangements blend oriental percussions with electronic soundscapes “reminiscent of Radiohead, Depeche Mode, and New Order.”
His concerts in collaboration with worldwide musicians showcase his versatility as an adventurous artist ready to reinterpret his music to adapt to different venues and to the varied instrumentalists that accompany him.
Gurumiran’s upcoming album Man Who Sold Eldunya builds on the Aberrance experience and continues to explore new sonic possibilities. Set for a release in mid 2018, Man Who Sold Eldunya will surprise even Gurumiran’s most avid fans where songs in English, Arabic, and Armenian fuse seamlessly for a unique and captivating experience.
