Qum Watwet La Tnam
“Qum Watwet La Tnam” is the first live collaborative improvisation between Toni Geitani and Nour Sokhon, where they will communicate their personal narratives with their relationship to their hometown.
Both artists will be decoding their interpretation through the use of field recordings, generated sounds, and vocals to comment on the ubiquitous world of sonic stimuli in this sleepless city of Beirut.

Toni Geitani is a Lebanese music producer, singer, filmmaker, and sound designer born in 1992. At the age of 12, his father offered him his first VHS camera through which he filmed and edited small video trials within the circle of his family. After receiving his baccalaureate, he pursued audio visual studies in Saint Joseph University, IESAV. In 2015, he presented his senior short film titled "The Leaves Will Bury" in front of a jury assigned by the faculty board and came in first place. In 2017 he received Ashkal Alwan's grant "Video Works" and made his mid length film titled "The Disappearance of Goya”, and got officially selected in the 29th edition of FidMarseille and the 21st edition of RIDM. In 2018, Toni released his debut music album titled "Al Roujoou Ilal Qamar” that consists of experimental electronic music with Arabic vocals initiated by improvising with synthesizers, drum machines, vocals, and lyrics.

Nour Sokhon is a Lebanese artist, sound designer and filmmaker based in Beirut, Lebanon. Her infatuation with the creative process began to flourish in her adolescent years while in Dubai where she found comfort in listening to the sound of the Arabian Gulf waters as she wrote poetry. In 2014, she achieved an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from The American University in Dubai. Nour’s thesis “Gesticulation” reflected her own practice’s interest in the crossovers and counterpoints between experimentation and creativity in arts and science. In 2017 she studied at the Glasgow School of Art where she obtained a Master’s degree in Sound for the Moving Image. During her time there she culminated a large scale Masters project; a documentary entitled “People on Sound” that explores the transformative effects that sound has on individuals. In June 2018, she completed an artist residency at Haven for Artists where she has collaborated with various artists such as Ziad Moukarzel, Lea Kirkdian and Xavier Baghdadi from Junk Munkez which have allowed for her recent artistic vision to come to life with an exhibition entitled “The Inconvenience of Silence”.
