Youmna Saba | Biography
 
Youmna Saba is a musician and musicologist whose work is currently focused on the interrelation between traditional Arabic music and electronic and electroacoustic treatments.
 
She has released 4 albums to this day and has collaborated with musicians of different backgrounds, namely Mike Cooper, Nadine Shah, Kyungso Park, and others… and has participated in many artist residencies like: Hwaeom Spiritual Music Residency (South Korea, 2017), Sound Development City (Spain, Morocco, 2016), Gyeonggi Creation Center (South Korea, 2013), OneBeat (United States, 2012).
 
She is currently working on a new research project Taïma’ and is an active member of projects such as Sodassi, a collaboration initiated by Kamilya Jubran, that brings together 6 musicians from the Arab world, and Menura, a collaboration between Lebanese and Swiss musicians.
 
Youmna holds a master’s degree in Musicology, focusing mainly on the parallels between classical Arabic music and Arabic visual art.
