Youmna Saba
Youmna Saba is a Lebanese singer-songwriter who started her musical career in 2006 and has released four albums to this day (Arb’een (40), 2017, Njoum, 2014, Hal Bint Aabalha Tghanni, 2011, Min Aafsh el Beit, 2008).
Her latest poject, Arb’een (40), is a solo experiment in songwriting, challenging narrative structures and proposing alternative readings of time and continuity. It is rendered by use of oud and guitar, vocals and live visuals inspired by the circularity of the project’s recurrent themes. It borrows elements from the Arabic music tradition, and blends them with electronic treatments, sonic textures and loops.
Youmna has collaborated with many musicians of different musical backgrounds: British songwriter Mike Cooper, Korean gayageum player Kyungso Park, Polish composer Piotr Kurek, Lebanese musician Fadi Tabbal, among others. She has taken part in international programs and residencies: Hwaeom Artist Residency (South Korea, 2017), Sound Development City (Spain, Morocco, 2016), Gyeonggi Creation Center (South Korea, 2013), OneBeat (USA, 2012)
Youmna holds a master’s degree in Musicology, focusing mainly on the parallels between classical Arabic music and Arabic visual art. She is a part-time instructor at the musicology department at the Antonine University.

يمنى سابا
انطلقت المغنية ومؤلفة الاغاني يمنى سابا، في مسيرتها الفنّية في العام 2006 وقد اصدرت حتى اليوم اربع البومات (اربعين، ٢٠١٧، ونجوم ٢٠١٤، هالبنت عبالها تغني، ٢٠١١، من عفش البيت ٢٠٠٨ ).
تركّز يمنى مؤخّرًا في اعمالها على العلاقة بين كتابة الأغاني والسردية القصصية. تقدّم حاليًّّا مشروعها أربعين في حفلات فرديّة، غناءً وعزفًا على العود والغيتار. يعيد هذا المشروع التجريبي النظر في كتابة الأغاني مع مفاهيم بديلة لقراءة معلمة الوقت والإستمرارية في السردية. يجمع موسيقيّا بين عناصر مستعارة من التقليد الموسيقي العربي ونُسج صوتية معالجة الكترونيًا.
تعاونت سابا مع عددٍ كبير من الموسيقيين، من بينهم الموسيقي البريطاني مايك كوبر، وعازفة الكياكوم الكورية كيونغسو بارك، والمؤلف البولندي بيوتر كورك والموسيقي اللبناني فادي طبال. وقد شاركت في عددٍ من ورش العمل والإقامات الفنية، مثل
Hwaeom Artist Residency، في كوريا الجنوبية، (٢٠١٧)،
Sound Development Cityفي اسبانيا والمغرب (٢٠١٦)، وإقامة فنية في Gyeonggi Creation Center في كوريا الجنوبية (٢٠١٣)، حيث كتبت ألبومها نجوم، وبرنامج Onebeat برعاية Bang on a Can في الولايات المتحدة (٢٠١٢)،
تحمل يمنى شهادة ماجيستير في العلوم الموسيقيّة من جامعة الأنطونيّة في بعبدا، لبنان حيث تدرّس حاليًّا. تمحورت ابحاثها في هذا المجال حول التناسق بين الموسيقى والفنون التشكيلية في الفن العربي التقليدي.
