Les Cordes Résonnantes is proud to announce the premiere of “Oriental Goes Baroque”, an ambitious and original musical project that reimagines iconic Arabic songs through the lens of Italian Baroque music. The concert will take place on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 9:00pm, at Metro Al Madina, Beirut.

This cross-cultural creation was imagined by conductor Joe Daou and developed in collaboration with Italian composer Francesca Soana, who contributed to the adaptation and arrangement of the repertoire. Together, they curated a program that invites dialogue between two rich musical traditions. At the heart of this encounter is solo vocalist Nadine Hassan, whose voice, deeply rooted in the Arabic classical heritage, brings an expressive and authentic dimension to the reinterpretation of works by Fairuz, Abdel Wahab, Asmahan, and others.

On stage, a Baroque orchestra is joined by Oriental and ethnic instruments, creating a vibrant fusion of timbres. These original arrangements explore the ornamentation and expressive nuance that unite Baroque aesthetics with Levantine musical expression.

The project is presented in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Lebanon and Metro Al Madina, and is supported by cultural partners committed to fostering artistic dialogue and innovation.
