Description
Noga is a Lebanese band performing Arabic folk dance music, merging traditional Eastern sounds with contemporary electronic elements. Comprising six skilled musicians, the band features buzuq player and vocalist Faraj Hanna, tabla player Samer Afif, percussionist Majdi Zeineddin, bassist Serge Mkhayel, violinist Raphael Haddad, and electronic musician Andy Khoulousi. Noga captivates audiences with their dynamic improvisations and vibrant performances, aiming at creating a positive dancing atmosphere.
Noga’s music emphasizes on shaabi soloing, using vocals to enhance the musical journey—while traditional shaabi performances only focus the vocalist. Their innovative use of electronic processing adds a studio produced-like sound without compromising the freedom unique to shaabi music. By incorporating electronic pedals on the buzuq (an oriental instrument) and violin, Noga expands their sonic range and offers a colorful tone palette, setting them apart in terms of phrasing and sounds. Noga also relies on free soloing over loops, enriching their music with dynamic and evolving textures that serve the movement framework.
Noga also incorporates segments of well-known traditional and folk songs, creating a festive atmosphere. They also incorporate humorous sound recordings and effects, adding a different dimension to their music. The texts used between or during the musical segments provide avenues for expressing political or social opinions.
نوجا هي فرقة لبنانية تؤدّي موسيقى الرقص الشعبية العربية، حيث تمزج بين الأصوات الشرقية التقليدية والعناصر الإلكترونية المعاصرة. تتألف الفرقة من ستة موسيقيين: عازف البزق والمغني فرج حنّا، عازف الطبلة سامر عفيف، عازف الإيقاع مجدي زين الدين، عازف الباص سيرج مخايل، عازف الكمان رافاييل حداد، والموسيقي الإلكتروني أندي خلوصي. تأسر نوجا الجماهير بتحفيزاتها المبهجة وأداءاتها الحيوية، مشعلة جوًا إيجابيًا معديًا مثاليًا للرقص والحركة.
تتميز موسيقى نوجا بتركيزها على العزف الفردي الشعبي، واستخدام الغناء لدعم الرحلة الموسيقية، مما يشكل تباينًا مع القوالب الشعبية الإعتيادية التي تسلط الضوء عادة على المغني. يضيف استخدام المعالجة الإلكترونية للأصوات نكهة إنتاج الموسيقى في الاستوديو دون المساس بحرية الحركة التي تعتبر جوهرية في موسيقى الشعبية. من خلال دمج البدالات الإلكترونية على البزق (آلة شرقية) والكمان، توسع نوجا نطاقها الصوتي وتقدم لوحة ألوان موسيقية متنوعة، مما يميزها من حيث الجمل اللحنية والأصوات. نوجا تعتمد أيضًا على العزف الفردي الحر على الإيقاعات الشعبية المتكررة، مما يثري موسيقاها بقوامات ديناميكية تخدم الإطار الحركي من جهة والطربي من جهة أخرى.
