This is the second stop in my search for my identity as an artist: It all started with a tape of Shirley Bassey’s greatest hits, and then on to a CD and discman, gifted to me a few years later by my late godmother– that was when I was introduced to the Soul classics.

This concert is a celebration of life in all its phases. Love, family, heartbreak, and an all-out expression of goodness. Julie, my late godmother, filled a room with the brightest smiles and ‘belliest’ laughs. She always made room for wonder and music; she even taught me how to do the twist, and for her, any night, even a Wednesday night, would have been a perfect excuse for a party. I am doing this concert for her… her taste in music, her feel-good energy, her influence that has helped shape me both as a person and an artist… so for the love of Soul, for the love of joy, and for the love of love… join me, would you?
