نلتقي في أمسية نحتفي فيها بموسيقى الچالغي البغدادي، في رحلة بين المقام العراقي وأغانيه الكلاسيكية، ومحطات من الموسيقى العراقية التي شكّلت جزءًا من ذاكرة بغداد الغنائية. نستعيد أصوات بغداد وألحانها القديمة، من ألحان الأخوين الكويتي، صالح وداوود، والبستة البغدادية، إلى محمد القبانجي ويوسف عمر، وصولًا إلى ناظم الغزالي. نعيش تنوّع المقامات والإيقاعات العراقية، وننتقل بين الألحان الهادئة والتأملية وتلك الحيوية والراقصة، في أمسية نستحضر فيها روح الچالغي البغدادي وملامح بغداد الموسيقية.
كاميل الفغالي (قانون وناي) موسيقي لبناني يتنقّل بين بيروت وملبورن، حيث يقود فرقة «سلطنة»، وهي فرقة موسيقية تُعنى بالموسيقى العربية الكلاسيكية. تضم ملبورن جالية عراقية كبيرة، وعلى مرّ السنوات، شارك كاميل في العزف مع العديد من الموسيقيين العراقيين هناك، ما أتاح له التعرّف عن قرب إلى الريبرتوار الموسيقي العراقي.
جاد حدّاد (عود) موسيقي عراقي من بغداد، يقيم حاليًا في بيروت. نشأ على تقاليد المقام العراقي، ويحمل صوت بغداد إلى صميم هذا المشروع، فيما يرسّخ عزفه روح الريبرتوار وأسلوبه الأصيل داخل الفرقة.
راني قنطار (إيقاع) موسيقي وعازف إيقاع لبناني مقيم في بيروت، لديه شغف حقيقي باستكشاف إيقاعات من ثقافات مختلفة، ولا سيما الإيقاعات العراقية بما تحمله من تحديات وتعقيد.
يجمعنا نحن الثلاثة تقدير عميق للموسيقى العراقية، ونحن متحمسون جدًا لمشاركتها مع جمهور مترو. كما سينضم إلينا عدد من الموسيقيين الضيوف في الأمسية، وسنؤكد أسماءهم قريبًا.
An evening dedicated to the music of Iraq. The program moves through a variety of Iraqi songs, a big part of it from the classical repertoire in the tradition of the Iraqi maqam, with a few detours into folk, drawing inspiration from the great voices of Baghdad such as Mohammad al-Qabbanji, Youssef Omar and Nazem al-Ghazali. The idea is to show the beauty and variety of Iraqi maqams and rhythms, from the refined and contemplative to the lively and danceable.
Camille El Feghali (qanun and nay) is a Lebanese musician based between Beirut and Melbourne, where he leads Ṣaltanah, a classical Arabic instrumental ensemble. Melbourne is home to a large Iraqi community, and over the years he has performed with many Iraqi musicians there, which is how he became familiar with the Iraqi repertoire.
Jad Haddad (oud) is an Iraqi musician from Baghdad, now based in Beirut. Having grown up with the Iraqi maqam tradition, he brings the sound of Baghdad to the heart of this project, and his playing anchors the ensemble in the authentic feel of the repertoire.
Rany Kantar (percussion) is a Lebanese percussionist based in Beirut with a real appreciation for exploring rhythms from different cultures, especially when they are as challenging as the Iraqi ones.
The three of us share a deep appreciation for Iraqi music, and we can’t wait to share it with the Metro audience. A few guest musicians will also be joining us on the night, we’ll confirm their names soon.
