Sophia Chablau is a singer and songwriter from São Paulo, Brazil. A leading voice in contemporary Brazilian music, her songs have been performed by artists such as Zé Ibarra, Dora Morelenbaum, Ana Frango Elétrico, Juçara Marçal and Kiko Dinucci, among other prominent names on today’s Brazilian music scene.
With her band, Sophia Chablau e Uma Enorme Perda de Tempo, she has released two albums: their self-titled debut in 2021 and Música do Esquecimento in 2023. The band has performed in more than 40 cities across Brazil and Europe, earning recognition as one of Brazil’s most acclaimed rock bands on the underground circuit. They are currently preparing a new release for 2027.
She also performs as a duo with Felipe Vaqueiro. Together, they released Handycam in 2025, an album that was very well received by music critics and marks their most political work to date.
A Message About the Night
More than 10,000 kilometres separate São Paulo, my city, from Beirut.
No matter how hard I tried, it would be impossible to look towards the horizon and see it.
Strangely, hearing it was possible – and relentless. Its beautiful songs and noises reach where even the horizon itself fails.
I am deeply grateful for all the sound that has filled my ears over the past few years, and it will be an honour to contribute to the sounds of this city with my compositions – sometimes noisier, sometimes more danceable, or even contemplative. Above all, I am very happy to be alongside three Lebanese musicians whom I admire immensely: Antonio Hajj, Pascal Semerdjian and Sandy Chamoun.
I hope to see you there!
Doors open at 8:15PM
Concert starts at 9PM
